Why is a groutless shower better than a tiled one?
Traditional tile depends on grout, which is a porous material that absorbs water, soap scum, and bacteria. Over time, grout inevitably stains, cracks, and harbors mold. Our groutless slabs provide a single, non-porous surface that eliminates these issues entirely, offering a cleaner, more hygienic, and much more durable bathroom environment.
What exactly are these shower slabs made of?
Our slabs are handcrafted using a specialized blend of high-quality crushed stone, polyester resins, and pigments. This “cast stone” process creates a dense, rigid material that is much stronger than acrylic inserts and far more durable than natural stone alone, as it is non-porous and resistant to thermal shock.
Can I customize the color and pattern of my groutless shower?
Absolutely. We offer over 250 colors and patterns. Through our Tyvarian technology, we can replicate the look of high end granite, marble, and travertine with high definition clarity. Whether you want a modern solid color or an exotic stone aesthetic, we can manufacture it to your specific taste.
How do you handle the seams where the slabs meet?
While our slabs eliminate the hundreds of tiny grout lines found in tile, there are still minimal seams where the large panels meet in the corners. We seal these joints with a high-grade, color-matched silicone sealant that is 100% waterproof and mold-resistant, ensuring a completely watertight system that remains easy to clean.
Can I convert my old bathtub into a walk-in groutless shower?
Yes! Tub-to-shower conversions are one of our most popular services. We remove your existing tub, prepare the plumbing and substrate, and install a custom manufactured shower base and groutless wall panels. This is a great way to improve accessibility and modernize your bathroom.
Do you provide demo or installation services?
We can assist in the process of preparing your space. Our install teams take care of demolition and light remodel of your current shower, tub, or countertops. With a long history in the Valley, we also have developed relationships with excellent trade partners to help with plumbing, shower glass, or a more substantial remodel of an entire bathroom, kitchen, or other space in your home.
How do I keep my groutless shower looking new?
Maintenance is incredibly simple. Because the surface is non-porous, dirt and soap scum cannot bond to it. A quick wipe with a squeegee after use or a light cleaning with a non-abrasive household cleaner is all it takes. You will never need to scrub with a stiff brush or use harsh bleach again.
Is it possible to install these slabs over my existing shower walls?
For the best results and a true “lifetime” installation, we recommend a full tear-out to the studs. This allows us to inspect for hidden water damage and ensure the new slabs are bonded to a flat, secure, and waterproof surface. This prevents future issues and ensures your warranty remains valid.
9. Will the colors fade over time?
No. The pigments and “images” in our Tyvarian and cultured marble products are integrated into the material and protected by a durable, clear gel coat. This protects the surface from UV light and chemicals, ensuring your shower looks just as vibrant 20 years from now as it does on the day of installation.
